Continuing on our theme of Medical Writing Superpowers (Efficiency, Compliance, Cooperation, Accuracy, Consistency, Presentation, Voice) and the tools to help you achieve them, I wanted to next highlight automating content to clinical narratives. 

Auto-populating Narratives (Activate your powers for Efficiency, Accuracy, Consistency) 

If your responsibilities include writing narratives, there are tools that help take some of the data-loading drudgery out of that task – one that may have to be repeated over dozens of narratives. 

• There are methods of programming that can automatically populate data into narrative templates direct from the database. This information can be as text or as table content. 

• This allows much of the front loading needed for a set of narratives to be done quickly and accurately. 

• This front loading leaves time for the writer to focus on the other content and flow of the narrative. 

• This also helps narrative review as the data pulled from the database will be accurate without any transcription errors. 

• Automated data population can also be spun into complex, but user-friendly, patient profiles to help medical quality reviews.
