Senior Medical/Scientific Editor - Contract

Role

Acumen is seeking an experienced medical/scientific editor to ensure document quality. The senior editor will support Acumen’s clients by formatting, editing, and reviewing clinical and nonclinical documents, on a project-by-project basis. This is a remote contract opportunity. The senior editor will work alongside Acumen writers, program managers, and publishers to deliver polished, cohesive, and consistent documents to our clients. Candidates must be highly proficient in MS Word, have a strong command of correct English usage, have a keen eye for detail, be able to work independently, and have a flexible schedule to meet often tight, shifting deadlines. Experience using Style Guides and/or the AMA Manual of Style while editing documents with scientific data within the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare is required; familiarity with regulatory submissions is preferred; experience with eCTD publishing is a plus.

Compensation is extremely competitive.

Core responsibilities

• Partner with authoring medical writer to align on the scope and specifications of the editorial/quality review

• Line-edit and format documents to ensure cohesiveness and internal consistency

• Align document to pre-set templates, regulatory guidance or style guide

• Perform data checks against source tables, listing, and figures

• Perform updates to references using Endnote or other reference software

• Provide concise and clear editing suggestions to authoring medical writer
